My name is Stephen. I’ve been running Shreveport Fix It since 2016. In that time, my team and I have helped many small businesses with their IT needs, and fixed or built countless computers for people in the ArkLaTex. We love serving our community, and we love helping people with their problems.
I’m passionate about technology. I’m passionate about freedom. And I’m passionate about helping people. Since 2013 I have been passionate about Bitcoin.
At this point you have likely heard of Bitcoin, and have opinions on it. Some people see it as a get-rich-quick scheme. Others see it as a scam. Others see it as a waste of energy, only harming the environment.
I see Bitcoin as a new technology that allows people all over the world to trade, instantly and remotely without requiring trust in a 3rd party. I see Bitcoin as the tool that turns money into a computer protocol, like email or html, and lets anyone communicate value to anyone, without the need for a bank account, even if their governments have forbidden it.
Since the Fed can create new dollars out of thin air at will, dollars are not a scarce asset. Bitcoin has a finite supply, there can never be more than 21,000,000 coins (divisible to 100,000,000 units each) so I see Bitcoin as a potential solution to inflation.
But as someone who cares about the community, I see Bitcoin as a way for people to escape the trap of poverty and elevate themselves, since the returns on a dollar-cost-average in Bitcoin outpace all others on a long enough time line.
The Bitcoin space can be confusing and difficult to navigate for somebody new. There are so many voices online making noise, it can be hard to filter through to the signal.
